MOST UP TO DATE INFO (along with important information already posted) will be available as it unfolds at Rons Bikes Blog -- so keep checking there as you think about it.

the leave no trace, self supported, non race, 4-5 TBA GPX route choice for everyone, alt cycling community summit world championships without a champion, peak foliage camp out with a bring your own stuff bike-swap-yard-sale in the heart of nutmeg country.

Hi Everyone!  We've got a very special 253 acre venue this year at Deer Lake camp in Killingworth CT, just a few miles from my childhood home.  I invite you to scroll through the photos I took walking around there earlier in the week -- it's melt-your-face quaint, and that's even before the leaves start changing color!  Oct 21st is the last of peak foliage in New England here in the southernmost NE länds, and even with ol' grandpa climate change making our trees a bit sick with nematodes and fungus's, there will still be quite the show!

Camp Spot READ: The Venue this year offers bunk house cabins (with "mattresses"), lean-to bunks (with "mattress"), lean-to's without bunks, car camping spots (limited), primitive back in the woods ride your bike or hike in spots, and tent camping in a bucolic field.  if you want your choice of spots, then come as early as 3pm on Friday the 20th as spots will be claimed/cooperated Real World House style.  no reservations. count on at least a warm sleeping bag at a minimum for your sleep set up.  of course you could always show up day of.

Rides READ: 3-5 mixed terrain rides departing Saturday morning ranging from a 20 mile country road ramble to an 80 mile brain and bike scramble in the bramble.  Routes will be posted on the blog by Wednesday the 18th of oct.  Routes are not marked, so be sure to have the route saved on your device or follow the group wisely

Ebikes: sorry, no ebikes.  they are not permitted on our local trails

Kids: sorry, not really a kid friendly event, but if you've got kids that are more of young adults, then by all means.

Bike Swap READ: bring anything pertinent you'd like to sell really.  there will be a covered area to set up, but bring your own table.  there is no security on duty, so you are on your own to watch your things, or sell honor system farm stand style -- although I would be deeply disheartened if anyone who attends this event would break the sacred good community code of the last 7 iterations.

Scorcher Race READ: okay so there will be a little bit of racing.  fixed gear off-road about 10 miles, and spectator friendly.  10 bucks to sign up and build the pot, winner takes all.

Pizza READ: Fire in the Kitchen will be spinning pies once again post ride on Saturday with an "almost all you can eat" pizza ticket for purchase here.  there is no day of pizza purchase as they must plan ahead with the 3 day fermentation doughs.
