These shoes rock. Super comfortable. I have a few pair of barefoot shoes and these ones sweep the floor for comfort. Just enough support to not feel completely unprotected while maintaining excellent flexibility. They’re still barefoot shoes, so they look goofy but not as goofy as most of the other options out there. Great to bike in as well, haven’t tried the nylon plate although I imagine it improves power transfer or whatever.
These shoes are pretty dang sweet without question. Only problem I found is a lack of arch support with either of the provided insoles. Easy enough to add the insole of your choice to make these the most grooviest bike shoe on the planet.
These are amazing! I was a bit put off by the price at first but I pulled the trigger and I'm glad I did! These are really well made and comfortable. Fit is good & lots of room in the toe box. Soles appear to wear really well and I don't see any signs of wear after a couple months of daily use. I highly recommend these.
I'm really happy with my Trail Worms. The toe box is wide and the heel holds well. I like the hiking/approach shoe aesthetic. I'm in the PNW so the look fits right in. I've been riding in them a lot and really like having the ability to swap in the hard(er) footbed. I have a pair of Lake, wide leather shoes with clips. Certainly these are nowhere near as stiff as those, but they're more stiff than the SOM sneakers with which I had been riding flat pedals; I can't compare to 510s or some kind of bike-specific flat like that cause I've never owned a pair. I have yet to take them for a real run. I feel like my SOMs feel lighter (maybe they aren't, but they're canvas and the soles are attached with glue; they have to be right?), so I go with those. But I should give these a try.
I would recommend looking up the size chart that Stomp Lox has on their website. I am usually a 13 in sneakers and after measuring my foot based on their instructions, I found myself to be an 11! I couldn't believe it, ordered a 12/13, found myself to be swimming in them. I gave those to a friend and ordered an 11. I'm really glad I did. I don't think I would have worn them much, even with thick socks.
Great shoe, impressive pedigree. Would recommend.
Really nice shoes! Love the minimalist design and they are very comfortable. I wear an 11.5 in most big brand shoes and the 11 in these fit well, maybe partially due to the wider toe box? In any case the measurement instructions on the site seemed to work for me. Haven't had a chance to try them for cycling yet, but I'm sure they will be great!
