:: the trail worm only sees the trail.  Their whole life is dirt.  The trail worm moves through the woods undetected, because it is the woods.  Gently slithering over belly and glade, forever traveling the endless trails they inhabit.  You too may become a trail worm, but we promise you will be home by dinner.

My favorite way to interact with the landscape is as minimal as possible.  Whether it’s underbiking on a hike heavy ATB route, or trail running through the craggy forests of New England — I prefer to feel every sensation the trail wants to offer me.  Sometimes I have to go a little slower, and be more mindful of the trail I am reading, but that heightens the experience, and completely puts me in the moment.  I become a trail worm.

Mamiya designed these barefoot shoes with some help from me (Ronnie), and they are inspired by what I’m talking about above.  A wide toe boxed zero heal drop minimal running shoe with a specifically designed sole for adhesion to the rocks and roots.   The shoes come with a removable stiff insole allowing them to double as excellent cycling shoes.  We did our best to them not look overly sporty so that they blend into the natural environment rather than contrasting — understated with plenty of performance under the laces.
